Since the nation’s independence in 1971, the Qatari national football team has failed to earn a place at even a single FIFA World Cup. Qatar has frequently competed in the AFC Asian Cup, even though the national team has never gotten past the World Cup quarterfinals. Qatar became the second country to compete in the World Cup without being selected, after Italy in the FIFA World Cup of 1934, by hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and not making the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Check the complete FIFA World Cup 2022 Schedule group wise here.
Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, acknowledged the progress made by Qatar in the areas of labour law, worker protection, and minimum wage in January 2022 while also emphasising the need for more advancements. The Qatari government has been attempting to enhance migrant labourers’ working conditions since 2017.
Despite criticism, Qatar has made great progress, one of which was their unexpected victory in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. They can pull off even more surprises during their maiden World Cup appearance, as evidenced by their triumph.

Prior to being disqualified from the 2018 competition, Ecuador was once more eligible to compete in 2014.
Senegal has participated in two FIFA World Cups, reaching the quarterfinals in 2002 and 2018, respectively. After being tied with Japan on the first six tiebreakers, they were the only team in World Cup history to be eliminated using the fair play criteria.
The team’s longest World Cup streak three straight competitions was during the 1990s after taking part in two back-to-back World Cup finals in 1974 and 1978. The Netherlands was eliminated by West Germany in the UEFA Euro 1990 Round of 16 two years after winning the European Championship there. In the 1994 tournament’s quarterfinals, Brazil defeated the Netherlands. Brazil defeated the Netherlands in the 1998 semifinals and Croatia in the play-off for third place. When Portugal returned in 2006, they defeated the Netherlands in the Battle of Nuremberg, a Round of 16 games. FIFA only considers the teams led by the Deutscher Fußball-Bund for Germany’s World Cup history, which spans three time periods: West Germany (during the Nazi era), reunified Germany, and Germany (during the period). With four championships, four second- or third-place finishes, four fourth-place finishes, and four victories at the FIFA World Cup, Germany’s national football team is among the most successful teams. Germany has won twelve of the nineteen competitions, which is at least three more than any other country. A campaign is deemed successful if it places third or better.
Japan has made it to the FIFA World Cup finals seven times; the first time was in 1998, when they lost all three of their group games and placed 31st overall.
